ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
Masood Roomi is continuously investing in alternative energy resources; our current Solar Energy Systems are generating 10MW with the latest technology.
We are further on board with PTC and Pakistan Environment Trust on Net
Zero Pakistan with ambitions of making zero gas emissions by 2050. Our
massive tree plantation drives are being conducted around Multan region
with the aim to plant 10,000 trees by 2025. Masood Roomi believes that
food security is the right of everyone; we have maintained our own organic
garden on a 4 kanal land that provides free organic vegetables to our
workers every month.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
At Masood Roomi women empowerment is highly valued and thus several
initiatives are taken from time to time. A few of those include Breast Cancer
Awareness Session in collaboration with Shaukat Khanum, participation on
Women’s Day and conducting various training programs. We also provided
the opportunity for underprivileged disabled females to stitch uniforms for
our female workers.

TRAINING & EDUCATION
Masood Roomi in collaboration with Care Foundation has established two self-operated schools having the latest facilities in Kabirwala and Muzaffargarh catering to students of local areas that don’t have access to basic education.
Other initiatives include a partnership with The Citizens Foundation and Multan Technical Education Center to support thousands of deserving children including children with special needs. On International Happiness Day an online session by Franklin Covey was organized emphasizing the mental health of employees. On World Book Day, we arranged a trip for children of our mill workers to Garrison Public Library, Multan to provide them with an opportunity to explore the importance of books in life.
HEALTHCARE & WELL-BEING
Masood Roomi has established three free medical clinics and dispensaries which are serving an average of 200 people daily with financial assistance in South Punjab and providing financial & technical support to the various healthcare facilities in the region. At Nishtar Hospital, a 120-bed medical complex has been built under ‘Khawaja Masood Medical Ward’ including a Nephrology Department, High Dependency Unit and Thoracic Surgery Unit.
On Shaukat Khanum’s Silver Jubilee, our Chairman was presented with the Social Responsibility Award 2020 due to extensive sponsorship of patients. We are onboard with Wash4Work as second signatory from Pakistan for this initiative directed towards SDG 6 regarding implementation of best practices in organization to increase access of water, improve hygiene and sanitary condition for its employees. We work closely with organizations like The Institute of Special Needs and Care and participated in World Autism Awareness Day to support autistic kids.

WATER FILTRATION PLANTS
Masood Roomi has installed 26 water filtration facilities based on Reverse Osmosis technology all over Multan. We have also installed 11 water filtration plants in partnership with Aab-e-Pak Authority and those were inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Moreover, Jalaluddin Roomi Foundation donated a modern water treatment plant to the Government College of Commerce, Multan. The plant is expected to provide clean drinking water to over 8,000 people. The foundation aims to cater maximum population of South Punjab and is planning to install 100 hand pumps in Multan and suburban areas soon.
PROTECTING SOCIETY
Masood Roomi has been hosting dastarkhawans in DG Khan and Multan for delivering rations to vulnerable households. We serve more than 75,000 underprivileged community members with ‘Mehr Fatima Dastarkhuwan’ in multiple locations on all Islamic occasions. We partnered with DC Khanewal in ‘Ehsaas Stall’ to distribute 500 quilted comforters to needy community members. We joined hands with Akhuwat Clothes Bank (Akhuwat Foundation) and donated hundreds of bedsheets & comforters from our home textile business. At the government level, our Chairman presented a donation to the PM of Pakistan for Covid Relief Program. Further to this, we distributed Ramzan rations to numerous deserving households in the city and also to our workers along with 200+ cloth items donated to Akhuwat under Ramazan Cloth Drives.
